Short-term Therapy

All currently registered WSU students may be evaluated by a CAPS counselor to receive free and confidential personal counseling.  A 15 minute screening interview is conducted to collect information about you and your situation. Students can call or stop by to complete the short evaluation. A counselor will then contact you to either schedule an intake appointment or help connect you to other services on campus or in the community. CAPS offers a short term treatment model, if either longer term treatment or a higher level of care are deemed necessary, a referral to an outside clinic, agency, or private practitioner will be made. In all cases, we work together with you to determine the best approach to meet your needs. Individual, couples, and group counseling are available. For more information on our free groups and workshops, please see the Group Therapy And Discussion Group section of our website.
